43 George Street is ME+EM’s first stand-alone store outside of London.
Working in collaboration with Tina Vaia we were asked to design the interior scheme and furniture for the space.
The site boasts some impressive architectural features which include two oval shaped skylights and a number of other Victorian elements which we sought to restore and juxtapose against a more modern interior scheme.
We took traditional elements such as the wood bobbin and re-imagined it as a curved, sculptural piece of furniture. We also oversized and inverted a Victorian wall beading to create a shelf profile.
