A 200sqm retail space arranged over three floors designed for men’s fashion retailer Paul Smith.

Given the prominent location in one of Tokyo’s most prestigious shopping districts there was particular attention paid to the design of the shopfront. We created a two-tone lenticular effect using folded aluminium which gives the façade a different appearance depending on where you’re standing.

The interior scheme was inspired by Pierre Chareau’s Maison de Verre. There was a raw, industrial look to the site which we wanted to pair against a series of bold architectural interventions such as a bright red columns and staircase.

Each floor also carries its own theme and aesthetic. We set out to create a series of moments that felt harmoniously stitched together.
